No More Snow Days

With my youngest home from school all winter due to her school's choice surrounding the Pandemic, along with full-on implementation of virtual learning until at least April 2021, and the Nor'easter we are facing these recent days, it has lead me to wonder if snow days as we knew them will be a way of the past. Will snow days become one of those tall tales my generation tells our grandchildren about as they sit on our laps listening to stories of the "old days"?

The question, which would have been far fetched until recently, holds some strength. Now that all the schools across the country have successfully become virtual, for a short period of time or longer, there appears no reason that school cannot continue every single day regardless of snowy weather. Now, not only will the south have seamless school days throughout the year, but the north can carry on with school each day of the year as well.

The excitement and thrill school age children feel when the weather man reports of snow in the forecast, will no longer be met with cheers and shouts of joy among our youth, because they will be able to wake up, roll out of bed, and turn on their devices to log into class as if it were nothing unusual.
